Feingold, Johnson in dead heat, according to DSCC poll
Polling information the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee released to WisPolitics today shows a much tighter U.S. Senate race than other publicly available surveys.
The poll of 600 likely voters, conducted by the firm Fairbank, Maslin, Maulin, Metz & Associates Oct. 4-6, shows Dem U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold trailing Republican Ron Johnson 44 percent to 42 percent.
When leaners are pushed to decide between the two candidates, Johnson's lead shrinks to one point, 49-48. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percent.
The findings are at odds with other polling, the latest being a We The People/Check Point poll released today showing Johnson leading Feingold 49 percent to 41 percent.
