Kagen, Ribble almost even in Hill poll
U.S. Rep. Steve Kagen and GOP challenger Reid Ribble are almost even in a new poll done for The Hill newspaper in Washington, D.C.
Forty-five percent of respondents backed Ribble, a roofing contractor, while 44 percent supported Kagen, who’s in his second term. Ten percent were undecided.
The poll is much closer than other surveys released publicly, and some national pundits have started to rank it as a “lean Republican” race.
The phone interviews of 415 likely voters in the 8th CD were conducted for The Hill by Penn Schoen Berland. It was done Oct. 12-15 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.8 percentage points.
