Duffy outraises Kreitlow in latest fundraising reports
Freshman GOP U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy outraised Dem challenger Pat Kreitlow by more than 2-to-1 in the third quarter.
Reports posted at the FEC site over the weekend show Duffy, R-Weston, raised $234,111 between July 1 and Sept. 30. He spent $58,067 and had $698,185 cash on hand.
By comparison, Kreitlow, the former state senator from Chippewa Falls, raised $108,740, spent $34,717 and had $155,917 cash on hand.
Duffy, who represents the northern 7th CD long held by Dems, is targeted by national Democrats in his 2012 re-election bid.
U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, in the 1st District, also held a significant financial edge over Dem challenger Rob Zerban.
Ryan, R-Janesville, raised $628,783, spent $192,727 and had almost $4.3 million cash on hand.
Zerban, a Kenosha businessman, raised $70,457, spent $34,407 and had $224,626 cash on hand.
Freshman GOP Rep. Reid Ribble in the 8th CD raised $136,249 for the period, spent $74,466 and had $482,202 cash on hand.
Dem Jamie Wall announced this month that he'll challenge Ribble. He doesn't have to file a report for the third quarter.
Dem U.S. Rep. Ron Kind was the best fundraiser among the remaining four House members seeking re-election to their seats. But Republican Tom Petri had the biggest warchest.
The La Crosse Dem raised $139,303, spent $140,913 and had $475,800 cash on hand.
Gwen Moore, D-Milwaukee, raised $76,673, spent $72,986 and had $39,953 cash on hand.
Petri, R-Fond du Lac, raised $70,273, spent $64,575 and had $965,817 cash on hand.
Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Menomonee Falls, raised $69,318, spent $29,469 and had $402,107 cash on hand.
